Magnifying Glass for Reviewing Coins
Ive been using an old time magnifying glasses. Totally unsuitable for reviewing coins.But my new VISION AID Hands-Free Magnifying Glass with 21 LED Lights will be used used for reviewing coins is strong and sturdy . I purchased this magnifier and light to work on jigsaw puzzles. The first one I received had a flickering light. I contacted the company and they right away sent me a new one that works just fine. My mom loves it!
I purchased this as a Christmas present for my mom who is losing her eyesight due to Glaucoma. She was so happy when she tried it out for the first time because she was able to read small text that she previously was unable to see. She also likes that it has a built in stand so that she can prop it up on her desk to use at work. Unfortunately the item did arrive to us damaged, but I contacted the company directly and less than 24 hours later I received an email from a customer service representative named, “John.” He was very kind and professional and quickly resolved the issue and sent me a replacement. I would recommend this product to anyone who is experiencing vision problems.

Not bright enough w/battery power
It’s not great, not horrible. The adapter cord for ac powered operation isn’t quite long enough to make it handy. This unit will run on batteries but the lights aren’t as bright as ac power…even with fresh, new batteries. The price point isn’t bad but if you can find a better unit you’d be better off passing on this If price is critical, this will work.

How good is it.
Out of the box and turned it on, there was one led light out and the battery lid had a break on it. Emailed them just to let them know and they sent me a free replacement. The light is bright and makes the magnifying super clear to see, Had a tiny sliver in my finger that I could not see so I used the mag. light and found it, scared me as how big it was… LOL… Thanks Vision Aid for the replacement….

Love This Magnifier.
Comes with a charging cord but I prefer the batteries. It uses 3 AAA. So nice to have it as a handheld and hands free for splinters and projects. It has a bit of weight to it so it feels like good quality.

My eye sight isn’t as good as in my younger years so there are some things I can’t read without enlarging the words. This is the right size and the right strength to aid me in reading. I have many books yet to read and this can make that happen.

The optics aren’t that great on this. Granted, it was less than $20, but it has a fish-eye distortion to it unless you get your face right up close to the lens (talking about the big lens here, not the loupe). That’s ok if you’re hand-holding it, but having it propped up on a desk using it’s stand means you have to hunch down over it and get the object AND your head in just the right spot. I’m not sure about the 30X claim on the big lens either…The loupe is nice, but it has a razor thin depth of field. Trying to look at something like coin, you’ve got to get the loupe exactly parallel in all directions which is tricky to do with both the magnifying glass and coin hand held. I found it easier to put the coin on the desk and hold the magnifying glass with both hands (which were also stable on the desk)… so again, hunched over in an awkward position.The lights are definitely an upgrade from my old magnifying glass that doesn’t have lights BUT… they are not fully in front of the blue plastic body of the magnifying glass and therefore the resulting light has a blue tint that may or may not be fitting for your project. It isn’t a repulsive blue, but certainly not true white. The light on the loupe is around black plastic so it is warmer in color. Neither are dimmable as far as I can tell. I felt that the big lens lighting was a little weak and the loupe’s light was almost a little too strong for a shiny coin.Lastly….. I’m not sure how they got so much vinyl “chemically” smell into their little power cord, but it is headache inducing!

Almost, but Not for Me
I tried using this product, but for what I was using it for it was not the item I needed. However, the rest of the product is great The LED light is bright so what ever you are looking at you will have no issues. The lens has great magnification. The ability to flex this thing around has many options. It is a good product.But for my intended use it was not going to work. There is a “foot” part and what I wanted to use this for I cannot have that foot part; it got in the way and I could not magnify. I would say this is good for maps and books with tiny writing, but working right under it and if you are on a table then it does not work.Again, it is a great product so no dings, just that it did not work for my application do to the foot part.

Game changer
I work on laptops from time to time and sometimes need to get a super closeup on somoe reaallllllly tiny connectors. As they’re often nestled inside the laptop it’s great to have a magnifying glass I can sit right on the machine where I need it. The lights are nice and bright too. And if I need a ridiculous closeup I can use the smaller magnifying glass. All in all, super handy and a big improvement over a handheld one!

This magnifier is exceptionally good. Having the light attached makes it very easy to see small writing, symbols, numbers, etc. It is light weight and can be used with one had while the other hand manipulates the item being magnified. I can now gather up all of my other magnifying glasses and donate them as this is the only one I will every need.

Great service when dealing directly with VisionAid
I do puzzles and I needed a magnifying glass. I purchased the VisionAid magnifying glass from Amazon, it arrived on Tuesday and it arrived broken (image 1). What Amazon sent me was clearly a return from someone else and while the magnifying glass was in the original VisionAid box, it was just stuffed into the box. I contacted VisionAid directly using the email from their User Manual, letting them know what happened and they sent a brand new, not broken, magnifying glass immediately (image 2) – it arrived today. No fuss, no muss. John at VisionAid was wonderful and immensely helpful. I started using immediately. Thank you, VisionAid!

First of all, I love this VISION AID. I do a lot of data entry from people’s handwriting, and sometimes, it is tough to make out some letters, even with my glasses. I finally got the genius idea to buy a magnifier. LOL. I love it, the strength and the powerful light. The best is it can stand on its own as well. I was looking through the smaller 40x window and noticed it was upside down. I contacted visionaidmagnifier.com, and they quickly responded to my question. They requested my order number, and within the day, they indicated it was a factory error and sent me a tracking number for my new magnifier. That was the quickest resolution I have ever had with a company! Good people.Update! I got the replacement 24 hours after I wrote this. Cradle to grave … two days!!!

Magnification As Expected, Plug It Into USB Power or Use Light with Batteries Installed
The media could not be loaded.
I’m a 50-something coin collector who wanted to get a lighted magnifying glass that provided 40X magnification and had a built-in stand. This item works perfectly for me. It offers a bright light, clear magnification at the expected resolution, a multi-angle built-in stand, the ability to power it via 3 AAA batteries (not included) or via the USB-A to pin connector (cable included).My favorite feature is the magnification – an upgrade from my previous magnifying glass. I didn’t really think I needed the built-in light, but it’s very helpful and allows me to look at coins in a room with poor lighting without the need for further illumination. The stand works well, but it feels a bit flimsy. Time will tell if with frequent use it will remain attached to the handle. I like the button placement for illumination (on the left side of the glass. The ability to use the light when it’s plugged into a USB port is great, and an unexpected feature.The body of this item is plastic, and it feels balanced in my hand. It’s not very heavy, which I think makes it a good choice for all ages. I think the glass area is generous, and for under twenty dollars I think it’s a good choice for me with my only reservations being about the stand and whether or not it will remain durable. I wish it was made of metal or a thicker plastic which would instill a bit more confidence in its use.Overall, I’m pleased and I recommend it.

choose option with most light
nice little magnifier with light. I should have chosen the option with more LED bulbs for more light. I would like to see the mfg. people figure out how to make the base a little heavier. It is a little top heavy. Maybe like putting the battery pack in the base fold out?? (just brainstorming). It is both battery and electric power. works fine. It can be handheld and also hands-free table feature.
